Rubrik hires bankers for ipo
Reuters, citing four people familiar with the matter, has reported that Rubrik Inc. has hired banks for an initial public offering of its stock.
Reuters said that individuals who asked to remain anonymous due to the secret nature of the discussions said the Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)-backed cybersecurity software startup has lined up Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS), Citigroup, and Barclays PLC (LSE:BARC) for the IPO.

If the IPO market improves, Rubrik may be public by 2024, and depending on market conditions, it may raise more than $750 million. Two years ago, during a funding round, the company was given a $4 billion valuation.
According to Reuters, Rubrik, Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS), Barclays, and Citi declined to comment on the potential IPO.
The Key Factors Driving a Potential Rubrik IPO Attraction
Since its establishment in 2014, Rubrik has successfully raised more than $550 million, including an impressive $261 million Series E funding round that valued the firm at $3.3 billion. This fundraising feat has enabled Rubrik to penetrate security and compliance with conviction.
Despite prevailing economic challenges, Rubrik has continued its steady growth, increasing its employee base by 19% over the past year to 3,334. The most substantial expansion has been witnessed within the company's sales and operations divisions.
As Rubrik's co-founder and CEO, Bipul Sinha, communicated to Information Security Media Group last September, the company is centered around leveraging core data to identify security threats. He stated, "We are focused on analyzing the core data to decipher the security risk. Consequently, our clientele base is engaged in initial purchases and accelerating their expansion with us."
Sinha's words hint at a strategic trajectory that aligns with customer needs, which amplifies Rubrik's allure as a potentially enticing IPO candidate. The company's strong financial performance, aggressive growth, and commitment to innovative solutions underline why market watchers are keeping a keen eye on the prospect of a Rubrik IPO.

Hiring bankers for IPO explained
When a company announces that it has hired bankers for a potential Initial Public Offering (IPO), it essentially means that the company is taking significant steps towards going public.
An IPO is a process where a private company offers its shares to the public for the first time, transitioning into a publicly traded entity. The process of going public is complex, requires meticulous planning, and involves a great deal of regulatory scrutiny.
Hiring investment bankers or underwriters plays a crucial role in this process. They are responsible for several tasks, such as:
1. Valuation and Pricing: Investment bankers help determine the value of the company and assist in setting the IPO price. This process often involves complex financial modeling and market analysis to ensure the company is priced appropriately for the market.
2. Regulatory Filings and Compliance: Bankers help the company navigate through the regulatory landscape, ensuring all necessary documentation is filed correctly and on time. This includes drafting and filing the prospectus, a legal document that provides detailed information about the company and its IPO to potential investors.
3. Roadshows and Marketing: Investment bankers also facilitate investor roadshows, which are presentations and meetings with potential institutional investors to drum up interest in the company's stock. They help market the company's shares to their network of investors.
4. Share Allocation and Sale: When the IPO day arrives, these bankers play a key role in selling the company's shares to investors and managing the allotment process.
In summary, when a company hires bankers for a potential IPO, it's a strong signal that it is seriously considering going public and has begun the preparatory work. However, it's important to note that hiring bankers doesn't guarantee an IPO, as the company may still decide to postpone or cancel its plans based on market conditions or internal factors.
