Neuralink stock update

Neuralink is a private company co-founded by Elon Musk. It specializes in developing implantable brain-machine interfaces (BMIs). Since it's a private company, Neuralink does not have a publicly traded stock, so there is no publicly available stock price for Neuralink.

As investors in the name, we have been monitoring both primary and secondary markets for Neuralink and found out the following:

The price of Neuralink on the secondary has always been at a premium due to a need for more sellers. As per all of Musk’s companies, shares are tightly held, and cap tables are very slim. In 2022, shares were trading as high as $50 in the secondary, in a complete disconnect with the last primary round, at the time, the $105 million Series C at roughly $15 per share.

The premium was justified for accredited investors with investments below $10-20 million to enter the company.

Then, in July 2023, the company raised more VC money at a share price of just above $19, and recently, in November 2023, some of those shares traded on the secondary market above $30.

The gap is closing for small, early investors who bet on the company at higher valuations as the reference price for the stock, the primary financing of funding rounds, where the company raises capital from select investors at a valuation agreed upon by both parties, is raising nicely with an excellent performance in 2023.
